Saturday Recap – Round 1 – Brindisi, Italy

Saturday started with unpredictable and challenging weather. Strong winds forced race officials to postpone the morning schedule after the driver briefing. As conditions worsened throughout the day, even the planned free practice session faced repeated delays.

By late afternoon, the weather showed slight improvement, and finally, after a long wait, the free practice was able to take place. Despite the strong wind and tough water conditions, all drivers completed the session safely and without incidents — a true test to their skill and focus.

Top 3 in Free Practice:
Hilmer Wiberg
Giacomo Sacchi
Matthew Palfreyman

There was also a GT30 class Italian Championship practice and qualification session today, adding even more action.

Unfortunately, due to the delays, Saturday concluded with only the free practice session for F2. Qualifying and the race are both rescheduled for tomorrow, making for a packed and thrilling Sunday!

Let’s hope for better weather and an exciting Round 1 finale tomorrow in Brindisi! 🌊
