The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the world governing body of powerboat racing, held its annual prize-giving ceremony on Saturday evening in Monaco, honouring the world champions of the 2025 season. The event took place at the Fairmont Monte Carlo and gathered drivers, teams, officials and promoters from across the sport. More than 70 world champions from various UIM disciplines were officially presented with their trophies.
One of the highlights of the evening was the recognition of Sweden’s Mathilda Wiberg, who received the Driver of the Year award after winning the UIM F2 World Championship title in 2025. Her success marked a historic milestone as she became the first woman to win the F2 world title.
Trophy was presented to Mathilda Wiberg by Pelle Larsson, UIM Formulae Committee Chairman. Mathilda has not forgot to make a special mention on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. Just 90 days left until the beginning of the 2026 UIM F2 Racing Season, the UIM Prizegiving Ceremony has not only officially concluded the last season but opened the new one. F2 Teams will meet up in Klaipeda, Lithuania on 5/6/7th June 2026 for the first round of the season that will feature 5 rounds in the World Championship and a single round of the European Championship.
Young Estonian talent Paul Richard Laur received the Junior Driver of the Year award after a strong season in the GT-15 class. The ceremony also recognised champions and record-holders from offshore racing, aquabike, endurance and other UIM-sanctioned categories.
The Monaco event once again served as the traditional conclusion of the international powerboating season, celebrating the achievements of the sport’s top competitors and highlighting the continued growth and diversity of UIM championships worldwide.
