And that’s a wrap on an action-packed race weekend!

What a day it was at the UIM F2 World Championship!

The day kicked off with warm-up sessions before heading into a repechage race, where 8 drivers battled for spots 15 to 20 on the starting grid.

There was intense wheel-to-wheel racing—especially between Nikita Lijcs and Rashed Al Qemzi fighting for P15, and Peter Zak and Sam Whittle fighting for P19.Unfortunately, Tobias Munthe-Kaas and Egidijus Dagilis were forced to drop out of the main race, finishing 21st and 22nd.

The day was also marked by changing weather conditions—rain, lightning, and thunder made things even more unpredictable. ⛈️Thankfully, the skies cleared just in time for the main event.

The red lights went out… and the race was on!

🥇Mathilda Wiberg had a lightning start, taking the lead right from the first corner.
🥈Peter Morin stayed close for half the race, but Mathilda’s pace was just too strong, securing her the win!
🥉Hilmer Wiberg flew through the field, overtaking Edgaras Riabko on lap 7, and later passing Stefan Arand with 10 laps to go—landing him a well-deserved P3 podium spot.

There were some technical challenges:

  • Duarte Benavente experienced electrical issues on Lap 1, cutting power to the engine. ⚡
  • On Lap 9, Tino Lehto had to retire due to a power steering failure.
  • On Lap 38 of 43, Peter Zak was black-flagged after he and Stefan Arand collided in Turn 1. Zak’s boat suffered a damaged sponson and struggled in every turn, race officials decided to remove him from the race for safety.

Despite a few dramatic moments, the Grand Prix wrapped up cleanly—with 42 laps completed and valuable points earned toward the championship! 🏆

What a weekend. What a race. See you at the next round! 👋
